1861: May 11-July 11: The Journey West to Minnesota and back.

Wednesday, July 10, 1861:  Thoreau and Mann spent enough time in Ogdensburgh, N.Y., to eat both lunch and dinner there.  They may very well have been hanging around to wait for the 4 a.m. express train to Boston.  Here is their path across northern New York state.

   Potsdam 4:55 a.m.
   Brasher Falls 5:18 a.m.
   Lawrence 5:30 a.m.
   Brush's Mills [Brushton] 5:47 a.m.
   Malone 6:29 a.m.
   Chateaugay 6:56 a.m.
   Mooer's Forks 8:05 a.m.
   Champlain 8:20 a.m.
   Rouse's Point 8:30 a.m.
   Alburgh, Vt. 8:53 a.m.
